About Harold & Tania Barrios

In June 1982, just two weeks after our wedding, my wife, Tania, and I made the bold decision to leave Venezuela and build a new life in Denver. I had received a scholarship to attend the University of Denver, and together we embarked on this journey. To overcome the language barrier, we enrolled in a 6-month intensive English course. To help cover my tuition, Tania and I worked at a janitorial company, where we learned to clean carpets, strip and wax floors, and restore tile and grout. Upon graduating in 1986, I knew Denver was where our future lay. I said to Tania, "Life will be better for our family if we stay here." So, we stayed and worked hard—balancing jobs and raising our two beautiful children, Jesus and Veronica. I worked at a large information-handling company in the mornings, while Tania and I continued to work nights as janitors, determined to provide a better life for our family.

As the years passed, our family grew to include our daughter-in-law, Rachelle, our son-in-law, Josh, and four cherished grandchildren: Bella, Mila, Levi, and Lola. In 1989, we realized a piece of the American Dream when we purchased our own home. By 1994, our entrepreneurial spirit led us to start our own cleaning company. Tania managed the cleaning of vacant apartments during the day, and at night, we took on medical office buildings. Unfortunately, in October 2006, we lost our cleaning company—a difficult setback. But we are fighters. In November 2006, we took a leap of faith and purchased The Grout Medic franchise in Denver. With the help of our son, we poured our heart and soul into this new venture. Seventeen years later, we are still proudly restoring tile and grout, saving homeowners and businesses time and money. Our dedication has been recognized through the Franchisee of the Year award, which we’ve received three consecutive years—2022, 2023, and 2024—from Premium Service Brands. Since our humble beginnings as The Grout Medic in December 2006, we have been dedicated to providing exceptional home care services with a family touch.

Thanks to your continued support and trust, our family business has grown over the years. Barrios Prestige Brands will now serve as the management company for our portfolio of brands! Our motto, "Your Dream Home, Our Family's Promise," continues to be the foundation of everything we do. Hello to all our amazing clients! I'm proud to introduce myself as the Owner of Barrios Prestige Brands. My parents, Harold and Tania, are immigrants from Venezuela, and I’m honored to be a first-generation American and a true Colorado native. My faith and my roles as a husband, father, and leader inspire everything I do—though keeping up with life can sometimes feel like trying to clean grout with a toothbrush!

When my dad Harold and I launched The Grout Medic on December 1, 2006, our primary mission was to build a rock-solid reputation here in Denver. Fast forward 17 years, and we’ve been blessed not only with a hardworking team but also with fantastic clients like you! In fact, we were recently honored as the 2024 Franchisee of the Year by our franchisor, Premium Service Brands!

About Rachelle Barrios

My name is Rachelle, a proud Colorado native, and I’ve been married to Jesus Barrios, the owner of The Grout Medic Denver, for 19 wonderful years. Throughout my career, I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with The Grout Medic as both a financial manager and customer relations representative, gaining invaluable experience in business operations and client satisfaction. These roles allowed me to develop a deep understanding of what homeowners truly need when it comes to caring for and improving their homes. Over the years, I discovered a growing passion for home design, specifically in creating functional yet beautiful kitchen, bathrooms and closet spaces. This passion led me to transition into a new chapter in my career. Today, I’m proud to serve as the design consultant and sole female owner of Kitchen Wise Closet Wise Denver and 360 Painting Denver. 

Our goal is simple: to help you transform your home, kitchen, bathroom and closet areas into spaces that are not only practical but also tailored to your lifestyle and aesthetic preferences. As someone deeply committed to both quality and client satisfaction, I take great pride in offering personalized design solutions that meet your unique needs. With my background in customer service and my love for design, I can assure you that your project is in the best possible hands.
